Meet website. Meet is a digital arts festival that aims to gather the main artists of the 21st century and offer music, performances and art installations to visitors.
Festival culture is becoming more important every year in the cultural sector, providing a performative and creative space both for artists and visitors.
In order to have a clear idea on how we were going to approach this project, we did a benchmark study. We included the main festivals in the field of digital arts, which provided a clear view of what was being done and what was not. For this study we included 4 festivals: Sonar, Mira, Dgtl and Mutek.
When doing the rights architecture, we need to take into consideration its scope. Provided this is a full festival, the website has to include the main sections for the user to check the list of artists or to buy tickets, amongst others.
Considering the clear structure we envisioned for the website, the wireframes were crucial to develop the layout. These allowed us to see clearly how the content was going to be addressed in order to achieve a good information hierarchy.
When developing the relevant visuals for the concept, we looked for references that allowed us to have a graphic notion of our goal.
We looked visuals with a strong digital character to include every form of the festival. This is why we chose different kinds of concepts as inspiration: light, sound and their shape.
As we are working with different concepts such as art and digital design, the UI is developed with the aim of creating an image according to them. An image that provides vibrant colours, futuristic visuals and remarkable fonts.
